'There Seems To Be Some Perverse Human Characteristic
That Likes To Make Easy Things Difficult.'
.
.Can you get just one thing done? How about completing one job or task...
.
...before you go onto the next one?
.
Sometimes I find myself for example opening a page or browser on my laptop and whilst I'm waiting for it to open a thought suddenly comes to mind to have a look at, or open yet still another browser and start working on that page...
...but I always remember -- just 'in the nick of time' to 'Get One Thing Done!'
Now why am I saying this?
Why do I make it sound so crucial to completing one task before I start another?
Well, if it happens to be several projects I'm working on to which have no direct relation to each-other, I find it okay to start one, work on it and when I sit back to think of what I need to do next, I can always move over to the other totally unrelated project to work on that.
Since the projects do not clash with each-other, I find myself working on one to suddenly have an idea pop into my mind for the other, that's when I scribble down my thoughts and ideas in my note pad.
Now what's the point Wilson?
The point is, when it come to trading, you can easily fall into the same trap but as with trading or using a trading technique or system, each thought, style, or pattern of trading you use could quite easily be similar to each other -- and if you don't 'Get One Thing Done,' you may find yourself chopping and changing your trading style.
I've known people to trade the Indices whilst looking at long term charts and using one style of trading, to suddenly move over to Currency trading (The Forex) whilst looking at short term charts and using another style of trading...
...thereafter they move back to Indices, to now look at short term charts, whilst looking out of the corner of their eye at what's going on in individual Stocks & Shares.
Now there's nothing wrong with that, as there are many successful traders out there who have a portfolio of stocks or have a universe of stocks they look at and have the ability and skill set to do that, since they've been in the business for years, they're professionals.
But the looking at a universe of stocks is not what I'm getting at, it's the chopping and changing of time frames, indicators, markets, stakes or £ per point, trading platforms, trading hours, trading techniques, financial websites, news channels i.e. Bloomberg or CNBC, opinions, beliefs and more...
...to never stick with just one thing!
And they wonder why they cannot get an angle on their trading!
That's not you, is it?
It used to be me, in the very early days, looking here and there going hither and thither, until I got fed up with it all because I realised I was doing what everybody else was doing and they still weren't doing that well.
Besides, I don't like looking here and there and going to multiple places for information, I prefer to go to one or two sources and stick with it, especially when it comes to putting information together with regards to my trading.
Now in order to get to where I want to, to find my style, my technique and my way, I 'would' be willing to go through one thousand sources to gather what I want -- but first, I think of what I need and it's then I go to work.
So in order to 'Get One Thing Done,' 'One Task At A Time,' be sure you know what it is you want, exactly what you want and from there your daily doings will be far simpler...
...and what of 'your' trading endeavours?
That would be far easier too, that's why I always say trading is simple, as if you 'Keep It Simple,' it will be.
So now's the time to have a clear out or all the bits and bobs you don't use i.e. what's not giving you what you want but only causing a hindrance in your life and your trading...
...yes, it all comes down to 'Getting One Thing Done,' which is in fact a 'Methodology - To Which You Could Remain True,' and sticking to it.

P.S. Make up your mind what it is you want -- and go for it. Isn't it about time to stop all that chopping and changing and indecision? Plus, do take heed of what uncle 'Warren' has to say, as I feel pretty sure he knows what he's talking about!
